The National Transition Event & Troops Track Day
27th February 2023, The Wing, Silverstone
The National Transition event is for those leaving the services, veterans and spouses to find out more about the opportunities available to them, find out and access the support and help available, to widen their horizons, and recognise their own potential. Attending also gives you access to passenger rides around the famous Silverstone GP Circuit as we run the Troops Track Day concurrently. Attendance is free and you must be registered to attend.
NATIONAL TRANSITION EVENT: HOW IT CAME ABOUT
In February 2019, Mission Motorsport held a hugely successful Troops Track Day at Silverstone. Bringing together 340 Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) Service people and employers together at a fantastic venue it also proved to be a valuable networking opportunity putting people in front of those ordinarily not accessible.
With the Mission Automotive initiative gaining traction the charity was able to realise its aspirations and replicate this fantastic day, but with a focus on giving those transitioning from the Services, Veterans and their Spouses the information to help them plan their next career. The Inaugural National Transition Event was held on 11th February 2020 at the iconic Silverstone Race Track. Over 70 companies, many of whom are on their own Covenant journey from Bronze to Gold and Mission Automotive members, were invited to attend.
A valuable Networking Opportunity
Unlike other events with potential employers, those attending must bring with them staff who have previously served in the Armed Forces, not recruitment teams. Thus enabling you to make connections, ask questions of those who have already made the transition, gain an overview of the opportunities available outside of the military arena and to give a clear, objective understanding of possible career paths.
Iconic cars on an iconic track
To add to the experience, with the help of the charity’s beneficiaries and volunteers, attendees will be able to experience speed in a variety of cars on the iconic race track. With over 100 supercars driving around the UK’s best known race circuit, we promise that you will not leave disappointed - It’s the perfect end to a great day.
