1,640 Press Ups and Squats - Frank Challenges himself raising funds for Mission Motorsport
Frank Hall, founder of Frank’s Charity Track Day Club, has successfully raised in excess of £4,100 for Mission Motorsport having undertaken a mammoth physical challenge which has seen him complete 1,640 push-ups and squats throughout the whole of January.
Just before Christmas, Frank pledged to complete the 30-day press-up challenge in aid of Mission Motorsport. However, not satisfied with that, Frank extended the challenge to include the same amount of squats as well.
Documenting his progress online, Frank completed his daily sets enduring snow and rain, along the banks of the River Derwent and even completed some on the side of a steep hill pathway. Frank at the beginning of his challenge said, “It’s going to be a hard challenge - anyone that knows me knows that I’m not fit at all - as the owner of a chip shop I know that you should never trust a slim chip shop owner!”
At the beginning of the challenge, Frank was required to complete 45 press-ups, sit-ups, and squats slowly building up to 100 on his final day, the 30th of January. Upon completion of the challenge, Frank said, “Mission Motorsport is a great charity. Having attended Race of Remembrance and seeing the fantastic work that the team do and the way it helps to transform the lives of its beneficiaries for the better, I couldn’t not do something for them.”
Frank’s Charity Track Day Club, which Frank founded, started when he and a group of motorsport enthusiasts wanted to enjoy a track day together. Organising an event at Blyton Park, he was overwhelmed by the response and now regularly organises days throughout the year. Often sold out, all monies raised are donated to charity, and to date he has donated over £75,000 to a variety of charities.
This year, Frank will be holding a track day at Blyton Park on the 28th of June in aid of Mission Motorsport. Frank has pledged that if the event can raise more than £4,125 - the highest amount a single event has ever raised, he will participate in the Biathlon of Foolishness at the 2022 Race of Remembrance at Anglesey, a bit of light fun and fundraising opportunity which sees participants jump into the icy waters of the Irish Sea.
CEO James Cameron said, “ We are all incredibly humbled by Frank and all of his fundraising work. To physically push himself as he has done is admirable. We are incredibly grateful for all the monies he has raised , all of which will go directly towards helping service leavers, veterans and spouses who have been affected by their time in the military. We’re looking forward to the June event and hopefully seeing him in the Irish Sea in November!”
