James Brown Races in the Vale of Glamorgan Coastal Ultra Marathon Raising Funds for Mission Motorsport

James Brown, a great supporter of the charity will be running the Vale of Glamorgan Coastal Ultra Marathon on Saturday 15th April to raise awareness and to raise at least £500 for the charity

Pushing himself to the limits, James will run 50km across the rough, wild and undulating terrain of the Wesh coastline from Penarth Pier to Ogmore-by-Sea along the Vale of Glamorgan Coastline.

Setting off at 0800hrs in the morning, James will have 10hrs to complete the endurance race, all the time carrying a kit consisting of:

The route that James will be completing.

-Waterproof jacket and base layers.

-Hat, gloves, whistle, compass, foil survival blanket, small first aid kit, mobile phone, map and GPS device

-Appropriate trail running footwear with adequate grip for slippery off road conditions

-Water bottle and food.

Starting his training back in November 2023, this will be the furthest he has ever run, and has been keeping the charity and it’s supporters up-to-date with his progress with regular tweets on Twitter (click here) and has completed various races at different distances - even training on Christmas day!

Talking about the race James said, “This will be the longest distance I have covered in a single run, along rough, wild and undulating terrain. With all the mandatory kit and whatever the welsh weather wants to throw at us on the day, it is going to be a pretty tough few hours and the potential to be quite lonely at times as well. However, running 50km is nothing compared to the journey wounded, Injured and sick servicemen and women go through every day and Mission Motorsport.

“So I'm choosing to put myself through a big challenge for me, to raise £500 for those who have a much bigger challenge they didn't choose and raise awareness and support the brilliant work that Mission Motorsport do. If you are able please do donate, it would mean the world to me and to the servicemen and women.”
