Mission Motorsport Supports Trac Môn Anglesey Circuit's Armed Forces Covenant Signing

Anglesey, Wales – 10th January 2024 Mission Motorsport is proud to have supported Trac Môn Anglesey Circuit in the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, a public pledge to support the UK’s Armed Forces community. This milestone reinforces the circuit’s commitment to treating service personnel and their families with fairness and respect.

The signing ceremony took place alongside an extraordinary event organised by Mission Motorsport, the Forces Motorsport Charity. The event offered participants a rare opportunity to experience night driving on an unlit circuit, challenging drivers to develop their skills under low-light conditions. This unique event, believed to be the first of its kind on an unlit track anywhere in the world, set a new standard for driver development and experiential motorsport.

Annette Freeman, General Manager of Trac Môn commented: “While night racing features in the motorsport calendar, drivers rarely have the chance to refine their skills in low-light conditions beyond a few qualifying laps during race events. This initiative offers track day drivers a rare opportunity to gain experience in night-time driving within a relaxed, structured, and non-competitive environment - perfect for encouraging broader participation in endurance racing. Most notably, with the Race of Remembrance recently celebrating its tenth anniversary, where racing continues into the night to honour the Armed Forces community, this event aligns perfectly with our commitment to signing the Armed Forces Covenant.”

Mission Motorsport under their initiative ‘Mission Automotive’, played a pivotal role in facilitating the Covenant signing. As an initiative dedicated to connecting the automotive sector with service leavers, Mission Automotive continues to help organisations like Trac Môn engage with the Armed Forces community through practical support and employment pathways.

James Cameron, CEO of Mission Motorsport, commented: "We are delighted to celebrate Trac Môn in their Armed Forces Covenant signing. For more than ten years Anglesey Circuit’s innovative and poignant Remembrance service has uplifted a community and made it the spiritual home of Race of Remembrance.  Their commitment to the Armed Forces community is exemplary, and the signing ceremony only reinforces their long-term support for veterans and service personnel."

By signing the Covenant, Trac Môn Anglesey Circuit joins a national network of organisations committed to ensuring the armed forces community is treated with respect and without disadvantage.
