British Motorsports Marshals Club announces Mission Motorsport as their 2024 Charity Partner
The British Motorsports Marshals Club (BMMC) has today announced that their charity partner for 2024 will be Mission Motorsport.
The Britsh Motorsports Marshall Club is the UK’s premier club for all race, rally, speed (sprints/hill climb) and karting events. Providing information to Marshals across the country, the club helps to coordinate the marshal presence at hundreds of motorsport meetings held throughout Britain each year.
Battling the elements at this year’s Race of Remembrance, over 150 marshals, affectionately known as the ‘orange army’ volunteered to support the event ensuring that the race ran as smoothly, efficiently and safely as possible. Without such dedication, motorsport events would not be possible.
BMMC Chair Nadine Lewis said “BMMC is proud to be supporting Mission Motorsport and look forward to raising funds at events in 2024.”
Mission Motorsport COO Andy Brown said, “As the Forces’ Motorsport Charity supporting service leavers, veterans and their families, and their transition into civilian life, we are forever grateful for the support of the wider community and organisations such as the British Motorsports Marshals Club. We simply wouldn’t be able to do what we do for our Armed Forces community without it and we are honoured to be chosen as BMMC’s charity of the year”.
Marshalling - Get Involved!
Marshalling is for anybody interested in, and who wants to be involved in Motorsport. You don’t need any special skills or qualifications to start, just common sense and a reasonably developed sense of self-preservation.
As you become more involved you will be able to take advantage of training funded by the sport’s governing body – Motorsport UK – and run by individual motor clubs, Regional Associations or the clubs set up to cater specifically for marshals like British Motorsport Marshals Club. The British Motorsport Marshals Club is the main channel through which marshals get information about the hundreds of motorsport meetings held throughout Britain each year. We have an online volunteering system, where marshals can see events at circuits throughout the country and can volunteer for duties online. Details of events are also circulated to BMMC members through the Club’s regional magazines.
