Gold Award for Mission Motorsport

Minister for Defence Procurement, the Rt Hon Jeremy Quin MP presents CEO Mission Motorsport with the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award as part of the MoD’s Employer Recognition Scheme. The charity’s work reflects the importance of advocacy, where initiatives such as Mission Automotive have a huge effect on the lives of many service leavers, veterans and their families.

Mission Motorsport has been proud to work closely with Defence Relationship Management for years, but having supported companies on Covenant journeys since 2014, it was Mission Motorsport’s turn in the spotlight. In a stellar year that has seen Mission Automotive members Gold Award revalidations and Covenant re-signings as well as new group Covenant signings - CEO James Cameron was delighted to accept the Gold Award on behalf of the Trustees, staff and beneficiaries of the Forces’ Motorsport Charity.

Mission Motorsport’s own Covenant was signed in 2019 by the MM’s Chair of the Trustees, Meyrick Cox - himself having served as a reservist in the Honourable Artillery Company. Meyrick passed away in November 2020, and so the presentation of the award at the HAC was particularly poignant.

Huge congratulations also to JTI - receiving their Gold Award at the culmination of a program of activity supported by the charity. We are very proud of the work done, and of their ongoing initiative in support of the wider Armed Forces community with Recruit for Spouses.
